While this list is far from exhaustive, we hope this will be a beginning to answering questions you may have. If you have other specific questions, please see our Contact Us page to request more information, or arrange a meeting.
WHAT IS "FAMILY CATECHISM"?
“Family Catechism” is a Sunday school class for all people (families & individuals) of all ages. This discussion-oriented class works through the Christian Faith by looking at the Scriptures and historic documents (i.e., creeds and confessions) and applying them to our everyday lives. In this way, we can learn and grow as a church family together. There are also Bible-based classes for other grades using such curricula as “Show Me Jesus” and “Life in Christ.” Feel free to show up at 10:30am (we meet in the basement), and we’ll direct you to a fitting class.
WHAT BIBLE VERSION DO YOU USE?
We use the English Standard Version (ESV) in our worship services, copies of which are available when you visit. Regardless of the Bible version you use, you’ll be able to follow along just fine. For more information about the ESV, visit here.
WHAT IS YOUR WORSHIP LIKE?
Services have an easy-to-follow structure that is printed in our bulletins. For our music we primarily use the Trinity Psalter Hymnal, yet we have a CCLI license and also draw from a variety of sources.
HOW LONG DOES THE SERVICE LAST?
Our service lasts a little over an hour. Afterward we fellowship outside the sanctuary over coffee and snacks, and then often travel to someone's home for lunch or eat right there in the church building. This is a great opportunity to get to know one another. When you visit, we invite you to stick around, grab a cup of coffee, and get to know us over lunch.
WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE THE SERVICE?
When you arrive early for the worship service, you'll find people congregating outside the sanctuary, while others file in to select a seat. People will welcome you and get you a worship bulletin and song book. Please note we do share a building with another church family, who meets before us.
IS THERE A NURSERY AVAILABLE?
Yes, indeed! It’s available for children 6 months old and up. If you have younger children, you are welcome to stay in the nursery with them. We also have a seperate room for nursing mothers and a family friendly bathroom. We do heartily welcome children into worship, so they join their family in worship.
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE THE SERVICES?
We encourage you to contact us and let us know of your interest. You can still become involved in one of our studies. Please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to be a part of this church.
WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON?
In addition to Sunday evening worship at 5:00pm, we meet throughout the week for various studies and fellowship. We also periodically hold a lecture series for the community, with topics like parenting and marriage. We have held events like a John Calvin conference, an annual worship conference, and a parenting seminar. We encourage you to sign up for updates for our e-mail newsletter. See our events page for a complete listing.
